In the Name of God Amen I Henry Hodges of North Meols in the County of Lancaster yeoman being weak in body but of Sound perfect mind and memory praised be Almighty God for the same do for the settlement of my temporal concerns publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say First it is my will and pleasure and I do hereby and or and direct thatall my just debts funeral expences and charge of the Probate here of be first paid forth and out of my personal Estate Then I give devise and bequeath unto my Son William my house in South Haws whereBetty Bromiley lives and garner and yard at the back side together with outhousing which my Son William is in possession of all the ground lying at west side of Edward Johnsons which my son William is in possession of I give to my son William and I also give and bequeath to My Son Peter the House and Housing and swine boat and Ground which Edward Johnson is in possession of and I also give to My son Peter all the Ground belonging to the House where Mary Bromley lives and I also give to William my son and Peter My son the Houseing and Rabbets where Mary Bromley lives Equal betwixt Them share and share alike and I also Give to My son William Moss hey ling in Blowick Moss and I also give and bequeath to My Daughter Ellen Blundell all the Moss ground Called Aughton's and Balls which is all inone Lese I also give and bequeath to Henry Hodges, the son of John Hodges my Granson all this Messuage and Tenement there belonging where I now Dwell … and it is My will and Mind that My Grandson Henry or his heirs Shall pay to his Sister Ann Hodges and his Brother Thomas Hodges each the sum of Twenty Shillings a year and Every During the Lease I also give and bequeath to Henry the son of John Hodges My Granson all that Moss Closes lying in Church Town Moss Called Balls paying to Peter Hodges and William Hodges my sons Each the sum of one pound ten Shillings a year and Every year so long as it stey in Lease and I also give and bequeath to Elizabeth my Madin the parlor where Mesters Tribey lives and the Torves and also Two Bushels and a half of wheat to Elizabeth Rymer my maden My will isthat Elizabeth Rymer shall not have the parlor Except she live in it her self also I give My Maden one Chaft Bed it is my will and Mind for My Son Peter to keep sixty pounds in Their Hands paying my Daughter Ann Barlo Interest yearly and Every year which is three pounds Dureing her life and after her Decease I give the Said Sixty pounds to my Granson Peter Barlo and Ann Barlo and Mary Barlo each the sum of Twenty pounds to be paid by my Executor hereafter Mentioned I also give and bequeath to Ellen Blundell my Gran Daughter the sum of Four pounds to be paid by my Exectrix and I give also one … to Henry the son of John Hodges and also I give the Corner Cubert to the said Henry … and I also give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Berlo two Bushels of wheat and I give to My Gran Daughter Ann the Daughter of John Hodge a snap Table and I also give to Thomas Hodges the son of John Hodges a looking glass and I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ellen the sum of twenty shillings to be paid aftermy Deceas I also give and bequeath to Ann Johnson the wife of Edward Johnson the sum of one shilling then I give and bequeath to William my son and Peter my Son and Ellen Blundell My Daughter and Henry the son of John Hodges my granson all the rased or the remainder of all my personal Estate what kind or mater to ever and lastly I do hereby revoke Make null and void all others and former will orwills by me at anytime heretofor made and do confirm this as and for my last Will and Testament constituting and making My son William and Peter My son and Henry the son of John Hodges and William Hodges my Brother Executors hereof where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this Third day of November one Thousand seven hundred and Ninety Seven

In the Consistory Court of Chester On Thursday the nineteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight
Appeared Personally William Hodges of North Meols in the County of Lancaster and diocese of Chester husbandman Peter Hodges of North Meols in the County and Diocese aforesaid Husbandman and being sworn upon the holy Gospels made Oath that they are two of the Executors named in the last will and Testament of Henry Hodges late of North Meols in the County and Diocese aforesaid yeoman deceased here to amended hearing Date the third day of November in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and thirty seven and the Depen…ts further say when they read over the said will they observed the following interlineations to wit, the words "and Swine boat" interlined between the fourteenth and fifteenth lines from the top of the first side of the said will the words interlined "where, Mary Bromiley- "lives"- between the eighteenth lines the words "The Son of John Hodges"-interlined between the twenty third and twenty fourth lines the words "except Parlor"-interlined between the twenty fourth and twenty fifth lines the words " or his hairs" interlined between the twenty fifth and twenty sixth lines from the

In the Name of God Amen I Richard Hodges of Little London within the Parish of North Meols and in the County of Lancaster Yeoman being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be Almighty God for the same do for the settlement of my temporal state make publish and ordain this my last Will and Testament in mannor and form following viz. I do hereby order and direct that all myjust debts and my funeral expences shall be paid forth and out of my personal Estate. Then I give devise and bequeath all that my Estate called or known by the name of Boonds with every the appurtenances there to belonging situate standing lying and bring in Little London aforesaid unto my Son Thomas during my term and interest therein chargeable nevertheless with the annual or yearly payment ofthe sum of eight pounds which said sum of eight pounds shall be yearly divided among my children viz. William Nancy or Ann Isabel, Ellen & Molly or Mary in equal shares and proportions one with another and if any of my children die before the expiration of the term where by the same is held such share shall go to the children of such my son or daughters. Then I give devise and bequeath all thatmy Estate situate standing lying and being in Little London aforesaid called and known by the name of Gambal destors during my term and interest therein unto and equally among all my children or the heirs of their bodies share and share alike. Then I give and bequeath unto my daughter Isabel one feather bed and two feather bolsters then as to the rest of my household furniture I will and order the same to be equally divided amongst all my children share and share alike I give and bequeath also unto my Sons Thomas and William all my wearing apparel equally between them And Lastly I do hereby revoke make null and void all other and former Will or Wills by me at anytime heretofore by me made and appointing this as and for my last will and Testament constituting and making my sons Thomas andWilliam Executors thereof In witness whereof I have here unto stand put my hand and Seal this twenty ninth day of January one thousand eight hundred and six.

The first document is a copy of the second document. The third is another record of the same happening which clearly shows that Edward Johnson is the person who married Mary Rimer not Edward Haworth. Robert Wright, Robert Rymer, William Watkinson, and James Moss complain against Richard Boond the elder of Banks and John Ball of Blowicke in a plea that they render them a reasonable account of the time when, etc. Defendant Ball says that he paid Hugh Rymer 7s. which he has acknowledged. Defendant Boond acknowledged 3s. 4d., and for 3s. 8d. the remainder, upon an account, before four men for the manor aforesaid.
The same complain against Edward Howard of Churchtowne and John Rymer of Blowicke in a plea that they render them a reasonable account of the time when, etc. Defandants appeared in court by proxy, and departed in contempt of court. Jurors declare for the plaintiff 14s. Cost 1d.

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Rymer of little London in North Meols in the County of Lancaster Yeoman do for settling my temporal concerns make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I order and direct that all my just Debts and funeral Expence and the charges of the Probate of this my Will be first paid and discharged forth and out of my Personal Estate I give and Bequeath all my Wearing Apparel unto my son John Rymer I do then give and Devise all that my messuage and Tenement with its appurtenances unto Richard Rymer my son and his Heirs during myterm and Interest therein Except the parlor where I now dwell and three butts of ground at back of the house Charged and Chargeable Nevertheless with the mantanence of my son John Rymer with meal and apparel during his life and the funeral Expence of my son John at the time of his discease and if in case my son Richard Rymer or his heirs do not perform and maintain my son John Rymer with sufficient meat and apparel then in such Case I do Impower my Executor under named to Enter upon my aforesaid premises and the rents and profits thereof to take for the use of my son John Rymer for his mantainance I give and Bequeath unto Richard rymer my son and Ann Johnson my daughter all my household goods standing in my dwelling House where I now live in two Equal parts Between them share and share alike the fire grate and fender Excepted to stand as heirloom and I do also charge my real Estate with the sum and payment of Twenty Pounds unto my son Thomas Rymer at the end of twelve months nextafter my decease or any other time within the space and compass of ten years Provided he come and settet the parlor and three butt before Excepted I give and Bequeath the same unto my son Thomas Rymer if he chooses to come and dwell here if not otherwise and all the rest residue and remainder of my redy money …for money goods Chattles and personal Estate I give and Bequeath the same unto my executor herein after granted upon Trust for the use of the Children of John Hodge deceased that is to say to Henry Hodge, ann Hodge and Thomas Hodge Children of my Daughter ann to be Equally divided amongst them as they shall arrive to the age of Twenty one and if any one of them happen to die before he or shee shall attain to the age of Twenty one then in such case to go to the two survivors and in case two of them happen to die then I give it to the survivor and my Daughter Ann Johnson Equall between them share and share alike the Twenty pounds Bequeathed to my son Thomas if he do not come fetch it as Aforesaid then I give it one half unto Richard my son and the other half to my Executors for the use of the children of John Hodge deceased I give and Bequeath the Interest of my personal Estate unto my Daughter Ann until the said Legalees shall come to age as aforesaid and Rent of this present Year for my real Estate I order my son Richard to pay the same unto my executor here in namedand Lastly I do hereby revoak and make void all former and other will or wills by me heretofore made and do nominate Constitute and appoint James Johnson my Neighbor and Ann Johnson my Daughter Executor & Executrix of this my last will and Testament in witness whereof I the said Thomas Rymer have hereunto sett and put my Hand and seal this fourth day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and Ninty seven as Thomas Rymer

Know all men by these present, That we Henry Jackson of North Meols in the County of Lancaster Husbandman and William Johnson of the Same place, yeoman are holden and firmly bound unto the Right Reverend Father in God Edmund by Devine permission Lord Bishop of Chester in the Sum of fifty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great-Britian to be paid unto the said Right Reverend Father his lawful Attorney, Executors, Administrators or Assignes, To which Payment will and truly be made, we bind our selves and each of us severally for and in the whole, our Heirs Executors and Administrators, and the Heirs Executors and Administrators of each of us firmly be these Presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated the twenty fourth Day of March in the thirtieth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great-Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith and in the Year of our Lord God, One thousand seven hundred and Fifty Seven.

The Condition of this Obligation is such; That if the above-bounden Henry Jackson and Alice Rimer now licensed to be married together be neither of Confaguinity or Affinity the one to the other, within the Degrees prohibited for Marriage: If also there be no. Let or Impediment, by Reason of any Precontract, entered into, before the Twenty Fifth Day of March, One Thousand, seven Hundred, and FiftyFour, or any other lawful cause whatsoever, but that they may be lawfully married together, both by the Laws of God, and this Land: Moreover, if the Persons, whose Consent is required by Law in this behalf, be thereunto agreeing: and lastly If the said Marriage be done and solemnized in such Manner, as in the License to them granted is limited: Then this Obligation to be void or else to remain in full Force and Vertue.

The twenty fourth Day of A … in the Year of our Lord, One Thousand seven and Fifty Seven, On which Day appeared personally Henry Jackson of North Meols in the county of Lancaster & Diocese of ChesterHusbandman And being sworn on the HOLY EVANGELISTS, alleged and made Oath as follows, That he is of the Age of twenty one Years and upwards and a Batchelor and intends to marry Alice rimmer, A minor with the consent of Ann Rymer of North Meols aforesaid widow her mother
Not knowing or believing any lawful Let, or Impediment, by reason of any precontract, entered into before the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand, Seven Hundred, and Fifty Four, Confagunity, Affinity, or andy other Cause whatsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage: And he prayed a Licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the Parish Church of North Meols
aforesaid. In which said Parish the said Henry Jackson further made Oath, that the said Parties to be married have had ther usual Abode for the space of four Weeks last past

The same day the said appeard personally William Johnson of North meols in the County of Lancaster, Yeoman and George Johnson of Ormskirk in the above named county … and being Sworn on the Holy evangelists severally made Oath, that Ann Rimmer, the natural & lawful Mother of the Said Minor, widow is consenting to the above said intended marriage
On the same day Henry Jackson William Johnson & George Johnson were sworn before me William Knowley, Surogate

In the name of God Amen I James Jackson of North Meols in the County of Lancaster Yeoman being Sick and weak of Body but of Sound and perfect Mind and memory thanks be to God for the same Do make thismy last will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First and principally I commend My Soul to the hands of Almighty God and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buryed According to the direction of my Executors hereafter named. As to the Worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to endow me with I give devise and dispose thereof in Manner and form following (that is to Say)
First I give Devise and bequeath unto my Son John Jackson all my Right Tythe and Interest of in or to the Messuage and Tenement where I now live Together with the Buildings and other priviledges belonging to the same
Likewise I Give and bequeath unto My Grand Children James Jackson John Jackson Alice Jackson and Ellen Jackson the sum of Twelve pounds to be Equally divided Amongst them Share and Share alike
Likewise I Give and bequeath unto Jane now Wife of James Rymer of Little London within the parish aforesaid the sum of five Shillings of Lawful Money of Great Brittain
Likewise I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Henry Jackson Son of my Son Henry deceased the sum of Ten pounds to be paid by My Executors hereafter Named at his arrivale of Twenty One years Or if My said Executors (with his assent) shale think fit to put him to any trade My Will and Mind is that they Assist him with the same or any part thereof at their discretion
Likewise I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Alice Daughter of my late son in Law Miles Blundele the Sum of Eight pounds of Lawful British Money Together with the bed Bedsteads And Furniture Whereon I now lye
Likewise I Give and bequeath unto My other Grand Children Gilbert Blundele James Blundele and John Blundele Brothers of the Aforesaid Alice And to the Survivor of them the Sum of Six pounds Share and Share Alike
Also I Give and Bequeath to My Grand Son James Son of My Son William Jackson to be paid at his arrival of Twenty One Years or Sooner at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named
Likewise I give and bequeath unto My Son Peter the Loft Bed Bedsteads and Furniture hereunto belonging together with My Young Grey Mare
And as to all the rest residue and remainder of My personale Estate My Will and Mind is that it may be equally Divided Amongst My Children John, William, Peter Ann, Alice and Ellen Share and Share alike She my said Daughter Ellen first Accounting for Thirteen pounds Ten Shillings which I have Alfeady given her husband Except Seven pounds which I would have paid to the Children of my said Daughter Ellen Share and Share Alike And Also except Forty Shillings which I would have paid to My Executor John Ball Jun And Lastly I do hereby Nominate and Appoint My Son John Jackson and John Ball of North Meols aforesaid Executors of this my last will and Testament hopeing they will see the same performed as My Trust is in them reposed In Witness Whereof I have hereunto put my hand and Seal this Sixth day of January in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred Thirty seven Signed Sealed published and Declared by the Testator As his last will and Testament in presence of us
