Count Me In Too – Launch:
Domestic Violence & Abuse Findings Report
on Wednesday 5 December 2007 at 5.30pm
at the Friends Meeting House, Ship St, Brighton.
(Wheel chair access and induction loop provided. Please contact us with any other access needs)
Brighton & Hove Council Leader, Cllr. Brian Oxley, will provide opening remarks and we are inviting the Police and Council's Directorates of Housing and Environment to make closing remarks.
Following the launch of the Count Me In Too Initial Findings in June 2007, a series of additional analyses were initiated by Spectrum and the University of Brighton. These analyses are bringing together local statutory, voluntary and community sector stakeholders to examine in-depth the raw research data and inform detailed findings around specific needs and identities.
Presentation of findings
At the launch Dr Kath Browne (UoB) will present findings relating to domestic violence and abuse experienced by local lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans (LGBT) people. A detailed findings report will be available for the first time at this event.
Q&A: panel discussion
A panel of local stakeholders will take questions and answers on the impact of the findings and how to take forward the report's recommendations.
This is your chance to hear the detailed Count Me In Too findings on domestic violence and abuse developed from the initial data analysis collected from:
- 238 questions across a comprehensive range of issues, needs and experiences
- 819 respondents to the questionnaire
- 20 additional focus groups among identified needs/identity/marginalised groups of LGBT people
